Install the share kit on WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify, Squarespace, Ghost and Tag Manager

Where the verification tag, the script and the buttons go on the common website builders.

The three pieces

Every platform needs the same three things: the verification meta tag in the site head (skip it if you verify with a DNS TXT record), the script once per page, and the buttons where you want them. Copy all three from Settings → Share kit.

WordPress

The Whooshly Share Buttons plugin has been submitted to WordPress.org and is awaiting review. Until it is available in the directory, you can add the script and buttons manually.

  1. Head and footer codeUse a header-and-footer code plugin such as WPCode, or your theme's custom code setting. Put the meta tag in the header and the script in the footer.
  2. ButtonsAdd a Custom HTML block where the buttons should appear and paste <whooshly-share></whooshly-share>. For every post, add it to the single post template in the Site Editor.

Webflow

  1. Site-wide codeSite settings → Custom code: the meta tag goes in Head code, the script in Footer code. Custom code needs a paid site plan.
  2. ButtonsDrag an Embed element onto the page or your CMS template and paste the buttons. Publish the site.

Framer

The Whooshly Share Buttons plugin listing is currently unavailable in the Framer Marketplace. Use the manual steps below while we resolve its listing status.

  1. Site-wide codeSite Settings → General → Custom Code: the meta tag at the start of <head>, the script at the end of <body>.
  2. ButtonsInsert an Embed component set to HTML and paste the buttons. Publish.

Shopify

  1. Theme codeOnline Store → Themes → Edit code → theme.liquid: the meta tag inside <head>, the script just before </body>.
  2. ButtonsIn the theme editor, add a Custom Liquid block to the product or blog post template and paste the buttons.

Squarespace

  1. Code injectionOpen Code Injection (in the Pages panel under Custom code; Settings → Advanced on older sites): the meta tag in Header, the script in Footer. Code injection is only on plans that include it.
  2. ButtonsAdd a Code block where the buttons should appear and paste them.

Ghost

  1. Code injectionSettings → Code injection: the meta tag in Site header, the script in Site footer.
  2. ButtonsAdd an HTML card to a post, or add the buttons to post.hbs in your theme so every post gets them.

Google Tag Manager

Add the buttons without touching your site's code. A Custom HTML tag works today. The Whooshly Share Buttons tag template is submitted to the Community Template Gallery; get the template from GitHub while it is in review.

  1. New tagTags → New → Custom HTML, and paste the line below.
  2. TriggerFire it on All Pages (or only the pages that should have buttons), then preview and publish.
<script src="https://whooshly.co/share.js?via=gtm&badge=off&auto=floating" defer></script>

<!-- Or add the row after the article instead of a floating rail -->
<script src="https://whooshly.co/share.js?via=gtm&badge=off&auto=after:article" defer></script>

React and Next.js

Install whooshly-share from npm and render its typed component. It loads the share script once in the browser and works in the Next.js App Router and Pages Router.

  1. InstallRun npm install whooshly-share in your project.
import { WhooshlyShare } from "whooshly-share/react";

export default function Post() {
  return <WhooshlyShare networks={["linkedin", "x", "copy"]} />;
}

Not supported yet

Wix shows embedded HTML inside a frame, so pasting the script into an HTML embed cannot see the page being shared. A Whooshly app for Wix, which adds the buttons to every page directly, is built and waiting for release in the Wix App Market. Until then, use Wix's own share buttons.
