How it works

Live in three steps.

1
Create the code

Enter a destination, we mint a dynamic QR backed by a short link.

2
Style & download

Pick brand colours and dot style, export PNG or SVG.

3
Track every scan

Scans flow into the same analytics as your links.

Who it's for

Built for jobs like these.

Print & OOH attribution

When I put a QR on a flyer, menu, or booth banner, I want to know which one drove scans and conversions, so I can prove the print budget paid off.

Field & event marketers, agencies, retail
Menus & packaging that change

When a price or promo changes, I want to re-point the printed code instead of reprinting, so one print keeps working.

Restaurants, DTC & product brands
Trade-show & booth ROI

When I exhibit, I want every scan tied back to the event, so I report pipeline instead of guesses.

Exhibitors, sales teams
Everything included

Print once, edit forever.

Dynamic by default

The destination is editable long after the code is on paper.

Custom styling

Brand colours, rounded dots, and a centre logo.

Vector export

SVG for sharp print at any size.

Scan analytics

Know where and when each scan happened.

Why a dynamic QR code can stop working

A static QR code has your destination baked into the pattern itself, so nothing sits in the middle and nothing can switch it off. A dynamic code encodes a short redirect the generator controls. That indirection is what lets you re-point a printed code and read scan analytics, and it is also the thing that can be taken away from you.

We checked 15 popular QR generators against each vendor's own published documentation in July 2026. Eight of them can hand a free or trial user a dynamic code that later dies. The mechanics vary: QRStuff expires anonymous dynamic codes after 7 days and free-account codes after 30. ME-QR advertises no time limit, then blocks any code that goes 365 days without a scan and deletes it, so a seasonal poster nobody scans over winter can quietly disappear.

Two vendors make the ending worse. When a trial code lapses at qr-code-generator.com or Qrfy, the scan does not fail cleanly. It lands on the vendor's own service page, which means a customer who scans your menu sees an advertisement for QR software instead of your menu.

The honest version of the trade-off: static codes are permanent and free but frozen, dynamic codes are editable and measurable but usually rented. Whooshly's position is that you should not have to choose between editable and permanent, which is why dynamic codes are included in the one-time $49 rather than a plan that can lapse.

Frequently asked questions

Do Whooshly QR codes expire?

No. Every code is dynamic and backed by a short link, so it keeps resolving as long as your account is live. There's no renewal that turns the codes you printed into dead squares.

Can I change the destination after the code is printed?

Yes – that's what dynamic means. The code on paper stays identical while you re-point it as often as you like, so a menu, price list, or promo can change without a reprint.

Can I put my brand colours and logo on a QR code?

Yes. Set the foreground colour, the dot style, and a centre logo. Keep enough contrast against the background and the code still scans – the live preview shows you exactly what you'll get.

Can I export a QR code for print?

Download PNG for screens or SVG for print. SVG is vector, so it stays razor-sharp at any size – from a business card to a booth banner.

How do I know which QR code drove the scans?

Every scan is counted against its own code, with location and time. Give each placement its own code – flyer, menu, banner – and the analytics tell you which one earned its budget.
