When I run cold outreach, I want a unique link for each person, so I know exactly who clicked and who to follow up with.
When a destination moves or a campaign ends, I want to re-point a link I already shared, so nothing I sent goes to a dead page.
When I share a link in public, I want my own brand on it, so it looks legit and gets the click.
Change where a link points without reprinting anything.
Put your own brand in front of every link (Pro).
Country, device, and referrer breakdowns on every link.
Mint per-recipient tracked links for outreach.
A short link has two ways to break where an ordinary URL has one. The destination can rot like any page, and the redirect itself can be switched off by whoever runs it. That second failure is the one people do not plan for, because it has nothing to do with your content and everything to do with someone else's business decisions.
We measured it rather than guessing. We pulled 2,765 short links that Common Crawl captured between 2014 and 2023 and re-resolved every one in 2026. A quarter of them, 25%, were already dead. The spread is the interesting part: tinyurl.com links died at 36% and ow.ly at 32%, while is.gd sat at 15% and j.mp at 10%. Age barely predicted anything once a link was a few years old. Whose shortener it sat behind predicted almost everything.
Google supplied the clearest example. It disabled new goo.gl links in 2018, then set the whole service to deactivate, and 33% of the goo.gl links in our sample no longer resolve. Anything printed pointing at one is now permanently dead, because a printed link cannot be edited after the fact.
That is the reasoning behind how Whooshly is built. Your links are editable, so a moved destination is a two-second fix rather than a reprint, and the core is a one-time payment rather than a subscription, so there is no renewal date that can quietly take down links you already shared. We also publish a written permanence pledge, because on this specific risk a promise you can read is worth more than a feature list.
Read the full study: we re-resolved 2,765 short linksYes. Every Whooshly link has an editable destination – swap it any time and the link itself never changes. That's the whole point: the thing you printed, posted, or emailed keeps working even when the page behind it moves.
No. Your links stay live as long as your account does. The core is a one-time $49, not a subscription, so there's no renewal date that quietly kills the links you've already shared.
Yes, on Pro. Connect a domain you own – like go.yourbrand.com – and mint links on it instead of whshly.co. Links you already made keep working, and new ones can go on either.
Clicks in real time, broken down by country, device, and referrer. Scans from a matching QR land in the same place, so one campaign reads as one number instead of two.
Three tracked links, free, forever. Core supports up to 10,000 campaign assets and 1,000 saved UTM templates, with unmetered clicks and scans.
Buy Whooshly once and own your campaign links for good.
