What can actually stay the same
A bit.ly URL belongs to Bitly, so another provider cannot make that exact hostname resolve. Whooshly can preserve the back-half on a new hostname when it is available. If the export contains a custom domain you control, the same hostname and back-half may be preserved after you connect and verify that domain. The preview calls this eligible, not guaranteed, because DNS ownership and slug availability still have to be checked.
The old links do not magically move
Importing recreates destinations and endings in Whooshly; it does not transfer ownership of bit.ly or another provider's shared domain. Keep the old account or redirects running while you replace links in ads, profiles, templates, and printed material. For custom domains, plan the DNS cutover only after every route has been checked.
The export is the inventory. The route is the asset.

Frequently asked questions
Can Whooshly keep my existing bit.ly URLs?
No. Bitly owns bit.ly, so only Bitly can resolve those exact URLs. Whooshly can preserve the back-half on whshly.co or on a custom domain you control when that ending is available.
Can I migrate links on my own custom domain?
Usually, yes. If you control the hostname, you can connect it to Whooshly and recreate the same back-halves. The preview marks those URLs as eligible; final preservation depends on domain verification and there being no conflicting route.
Does uploading the CSV change anything?
No. The preview runs in your browser and does not create, edit, or redirect links. Only the continue button stores a short-lived draft so it can survive signup; the normal importer still shows the result of every row.
What happens to historical Bitly clicks?
They are not imported as Whooshly analytics. The CSV can help you audit the old portfolio, but Whooshly starts measuring new clicks and scans after its routes go live.
